Brittney Crayton is a powerhouse performer, educator, and director whose emotional depth and vocal strength have made her a standout on Louisiana’s regional theatre stages. Her acclaimed roles include Celie in The Color Purple, Effie White in Dreamgirls, and Motormouth Maybelle in Hairspray—each marked by her signature authenticity, soul, and storytelling power.

By day, Brittney serves as the Network Theatre Teacher for Einstein Charter Schools, where she teaches theatre to students in grades K–12. She is also the Drama Director at Living The Word International, using the stage to uplift, inspire, and share stories of faith and resilience.

Offstage, Brittney is a proud wife to her wonderful husband Steven and a loving mommy to their two beautiful children, Yala and Mad. She performs not just for applause—but to move hearts, build community, and give voice to truth.

Kizzie Fryson (Beverly Jenkins) is thrilled to bring the bold, vibrant, and fabulous Beverly to life in Chicken & Biscuits! As the fun-loving aunt and Baneatta’s younger sister, Kizzie is embracing every moment of this joyous, laugh-out-loud ride. She is thankful for another opportunity to share the stage with such incredible talent at Cutting Edge Theater. A passionate performer with a heart for storytelling, Kizzie draws strength and inspiration from the words of Maya Angelou: “Still I rise.” She dedicates this performance to all the loud, loving Aunties!

This Tennessee Native is a Mogul in the making! Risa is a powerhouse actress who has starred in several commercials and short films. She made her debut in a stage play. Although she has toured the states in various stage plays, her passion is Hosting and being an Emcee at events. She held the title of Mrs. Louisiana Universal in 2019 and was First Runner-Up to Mrs. USA Universal competition. Also, she is a Contributing Media Correspondent for “Swag Her” magazine where you can find her doing Red Carpet Interviews with local and nationally know celebrities. She is honored to be the host and founder of her live segment Sweet N Real podcast. Risa has judged several Beauty Pageants and mentored and coached several participants to win their crowns. Her greatest accomplishments are being a loving wife and mother to her three amazing children and granddaughter Nirvana

Megan Augustine is thrilled to return to the Cutting Edge Stage.She studied at Davis and Elkins College, where she got her BA theater arts. Megan is also a personal trainer at Crossgates Family Fitness. Most recently she played Janet in ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ ,Alyssa Green in ‘The Prom’ and ‘Squeak’ in Cutting Edge’s production of “The Color Purple”. Earl Poole is thrilled to return to Cutting Edge. A seasoned performer, he has appeared in numerous musical theatre and opera productions across South Louisiana. Recent credits include Riff Raff in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Principal Hawkins in The Prom, Harpo in The Color Purple, and Lola in Kinky Boots. Outside of performing, Poole is a proud member of the National Association for Teachers of Singing and the Owner/Lead Voice Teacher of Poole Voice Studios. He is also a seasoned Musical Director, most recently the Northshore premiere of Beetlejuice the Musical. His training includes studies in Musical Theatre at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts and in Vocal Music Performance at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Ian is currently studying drafting and design at Northshore Tec after completing his bachelor’s at The Cleveland Institute of Art. Alexis Davis (Simone Mabry) is thrilled to return to the stage as Simone Mabry in Chicken & Biscuits. A former Talented Theatre & NOCCA student, Alexis discovered her passion for performing arts at an early age. Alexis took a break from performing after high school, but the spotlight eventually called her home. Since her return, she’s appeared as Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls (Slidell Little Theatre), Grace in The Piano Lesson (Slidell Little Theatre), and Briana in Family Secrets (JB Squared Productions). While she has dipped her toes into film, Alexis’s heart truly beats for live theatre. She’s grateful for the chance to bring Simone’s story to life and is excited to see where her acting journey takes her next.
