Aaron "Black Magic" Turnipseed is excited to make his return as Musical Director here at the Cutting Edge. Native of Baton Rouge, Aaron graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University earning his bachelor's and master's degrees in Music Performance and Visual Arts. As a musician, he has been a featured performer for the Alcorn State, Bill Evans, and New Orleans Jazz Festivals. Aaron has shared the stage with artist such as Jazz Pianist Bill Cunliffe and Ellis Marsalis, Saxophonist Eugene Rousseau, Bradford Marsalis, Clarence Johnson III, “Blue” Lou Marini, Clarinetist Dr. Ben Redwine and Julian Bliss, and Broadway vocalist Ivan Rutherford. As an actor, he earned the leading role in South Pacific, Godspell and Little Shop of Horrors. Aaron was appointed Musical Director for the following: Chicago, Mary Poppins, Beauty and The Beast, Dream girls, and Sunset Blvd. Aaron serves as the Director of Bands of Hammond High Magnet school.
