About the Program

The Actin’ Up workshops at Cutting Edge Center of the Arts give students ages 7 to 17 a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the performing arts. Our core mission is to foster confidence, creativity, and community by guiding young performers through the exciting, collaborative process of bringing a musical production to life.

As our program continues to grow, we remain dedicated to creating a welcoming space where our youth can learn, collaborate, and support one another as they create beautiful art together.

Core Curriculum & Mini-Workshops

Throughout each production cycle, students develop well-rounded performing skills through targeted mini-workshops:

  • Theater & Acting: Focuses on character analysis, stage presence, script memorization techniques, and comedic timing.

  • Dance & Movement: Builds physical coordination, stage blocking, and fundamental choreography skills.

  • Vocal Performance: Teaches vocal health, projection, singing in harmony, and overall musicality.

  • Community & Collaboration: Emphasizes ensemble-building, teamwork, and mutual support—helping students build lasting friendships and learn what it truly means to create art as a unified cast.
