As a teenager, TiJonne (Mrs. Ti) began her singing career with Vince Vance and the Valiants. She later started her solo career doing backup vocals with Louis Prima. From there, she performed with many orchestras, including Frankie Mann, the New Orleans Pops, and the Idaho Symphony Orchestra, to name a few. In 1980, she had her own show at the world-famous “Blue Room” in the Fairmont Hotel with the Dick Stabile Orchestra. TiJonne opened for Eddy Arnold and filled in for an ailing Leslie Uggams. She had her own radio show on WNOE and was on the cover of several issues of TV Guide. Mrs. Ti has performed on several cruise lines, both nationally and internationally. In 2006, she was voted musician of the month in the UK. In April of 2000, she was the youngest solo female vocalist inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. In 2013, TiJonne received the St. Tammany President's Award for musical artist of the year. During that time, she finally fulfilled her dreams and dedicated herself to singing jazz—her true love—and became widely known for her jazz, rhythm, and blues performances. While doing all of this, in 2008, she began mentoring voice students and is still doing so. Many of her students have graced the Cutting Edge stage.

Fun Fact: While in junior high and high school, Mrs. Ti lived in Houston and danced with the Houston Jazz Ballet Company, mentored by Patsy Swayze (Patrick Swayze’s mom). She and Patrick were in the company at the same time. So yes, she danced with Patrick, but no... it wasn’t dirty dancing!
