Cara Twillie is the Founder and President of Connect, a Slidell-based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community across the Northshore. A lifelong educator with more than 25 years of experience, Cara has dedicated her career to creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and connected.

Beyond Connect, she serves on the Louisiana Human Rights Campaign Steering Committee, is a member of the Louisiana Coalition on Criminalization and Health Speakers Bureau, and volunteers with several local civic and nonprofit organizations. Through her work, Cara is passionate about building stronger, more inclusive communities and ensuring that everyone has a place where they belong.
