Brittney J. Crayton (Audrey II - Voice) Dreams do come true at CECA! This is another dream role that has come true for Brittney!!! Brittney J. Crayton is an award-winning actress, singer, director, playwright, and theatre educator from New Orleans, Louisiana. She is honored to share her passion for storytelling through every performance. Favorite credits include Celie (The Color Purple), Effie White (Dreamgirls), and Motormouth Maybelle (Hairspray). In addition to performing, Brittney serves as the Theatre Teacher at KIPP Morial in New Orleans East, where she inspires students to discover their voices through the performing arts. She also serves as Theatre Director for Star Is Born Performing arts camp, Posh Expressions Performing Arts organization as well as Drama Director at Living The Word International Church, combining her love of faith and theatre to create meaningful productions. Affectionately known as “NOLA’s Theatre Teacher,” Brittney is passionate about mentoring the next generation of artists and believes every individual has a light worth sharing. She lives by the motto, “You can shine no matter what you’re made of.” Brittney gives all glory to God and thanks her husband, Steven, her family, friends, students, and supporters and most importantly Emma, Earl and Brian for their unwavering love and encouragement.
